PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS
Span range
Arched skylights
(ridge-mounted, slope-mounted, or crossing the ridge)
Clear span at the
base: 1000 – 6000 mm
Products compliant with standards:
PN-EN 14963:2006
PN-EN 12101-2:2003
Skylight Covering
The skylight covering is made using an aluminum profile system filled with multi-wall polycarbonate panels featuring a UV filter.
In our skylights, we use clear, opal (milky), and combined multi-wall polycarbonate panels classified as NRO/BROOF(t1) (non-fire spreading).
Thickness range of polycarbonate
panels used: 10 – 33 mm
Ventilation and Smoke Exhaust Vents – Types of Actuators
Ventilation and smoke exhaust vents are additional components of skylights. Two types of actuators are used in these systems – electric and pneumatic.
- Ventilation: electric actuator 24V and 230V, pneumatic actuator
- Electric smoke extraction + ventilation: electric actuator 24V
- Pneumatic smoke extraction + electric ventilation: electric actuator 230V (ventilation function), pneumatic actuator (smoke extraction function)
Skylight Base
The skylight base is made as standard from galvanized steel sheet with a minimum zinc coating of Z275 (275 g/m²) or ZM310 (310 g/m² – Magnelis coating), with a thickness ranging from 1.5 to 3.0 mm depending on the building’s architecture.
In our skylights, we use bases with heights ranging from 150 to 750 mm.
We also offer the option to paint the skylight covers and bases in any RAL color and provide corrosion protection in classes from C1 to C5-I.
We offer bases in two variants:
Standard
requires continuous structural support along the entire perimeter of the skylight
Self-supporting
point support up to 10 m on axis
The bases are designed for external insulation with mineral wool, PIR boards, polystyrene, or other insulating materials with a thickness ranging from 50 to 150 mm.
Base Flashing
We provide base flashing using membrane, roofing felt, and sheet metal in the RAL color matching the roof covering.

Skylights – Natural Lighting for Your Spaces by STORLUM
Skylights are an innovative architectural solution installed on flat or pitched roofs. STORLUM skylights are manufactured based on the specific requirements of each project. Moreover, we offer professional installation and essential maintenance services.
The primary function of a skylight is to provide natural lighting inside a building. This significantly reduces electricity costs. It’s also worth noting that the daylight provided by skylights is evenly distributed throughout the interiors where they are installed.
Natural light offers real visual comfort for building occupants. Unlike artificial light sources, it reduces eye strain and fatigue. Furthermore, natural light positively affects well-being and helps to reduce feelings of tiredness.
Skylights can be equipped with additional features that enhance their functionality. For instance, integrating ventilation flaps offers a valuable way to supply fresh air, improving working conditions and increasing safety. The ventilation function of skylights is also effective in maintaining appropriate indoor temperatures.
Modern skylights are designed with a high self-cleaning effect. This ensures an optimal level of daylight transmission for a long time and helps reduce maintenance costs related to frequent cleaning.
What are the other advantages of skylights?
Advantages of skylights include:
- Natural daylight illumination of interior spaces – reduced electricity consumption
- Safety – extraction of smoke, toxic gases, and hot air
- Ventilation – improved airflow inside the building
- Modular design – allows for the design and production of skylights in any length
- A wide selection of multi-wall polycarbonate panels – tailored to the customer’s individual needs
- Custom painting in any standard RAL color – to match the building’s architecture and surroundings
- Optional corrosion protection up to class C5 – increased resistance to harsh weather conditions
- Lightweight yet strong and durable construction – providing long-lasting performance for our clients
It’s also important to highlight the universal application of skylights. They can be installed in various types of buildings:
From industrial facilities (e.g. production halls, laboratories), to educational institutions and sports facilities (e.g. gyms, ice rinks), and even public-use institutions (e.g. courts, municipal offices).
