Rooflight Leaf
The rooflight covering is made using an aluminum profile system filled with multi-wall polycarbonate panels featuring a UV filter.
In our rooflights, we use clear, opal (milky), and combined multi-wall polycarbonate panels that meet the NRO/BROOF(t1) classification (non-fire spreading). A standard PVC clip mounted in the frame ensures excellent thermal insulation, effectively preventing heat loss.
Thickness range of polycarbonate
panels used: 10 – 33 mm
Rooflight Base
The bases of our rooflights are made as standard from galvanized steel sheet with a minimum zinc coating of Z275 (275 g/m²) and a thickness ranging from 1.25 to 1.5 mm, depending on the height.
We use both straight and sloped bases in our rooflights, with heights ranging from 150 to 750 mm. The bases are designed to be insulated externally with mineral wool, PIR boards, polystyrene, or other insulating materials up to 50 mm thick.
We also offer the option to paint the rooflights and their bases in any RAL color, as well as corrosion protection in classes from C1 to C5-I.
Actuation System
The following opening systems are used for rooflights:
- 230V electric actuator with a stroke of 300 mm to 550 mm
- 230V tandem electric actuator with a stroke of 300 mm to 550 mm
- Manual screw opener with a 300 mm stroke
Base Flashing
We provide base flashing using membrane, roofing felt, and sheet metal in the RAL color matching the roof covering.

Natural Light Source with Rooflights
Lighting the interior of a building is essential for its functionality. In modern construction, energy-efficient and eco-friendly solutions are increasingly favored. Rooflights are a perfect example of how to reduce energy consumption for lighting in a simple and effective way.
Installing rooflights is suitable for a wide range of buildings—from warehouses and production halls to enclosed sports facilities. Rooflights provide natural interior illumination by utilizing sunlight. Reducing the need for artificial lighting lowers electricity consumption, which can significantly cut energy bills—an excellent solution for business owners seeking cost savings.
Rooflights and Ventilation
Some rooflights can be opened, allowing for natural ventilation. This greatly improves working comfort inside buildings, especially during hot weather.
Advantages of Polycarbonate Rooflights
Modern rooflights are made from high-quality materials to ensure efficiency and durability. Polycarbonate rooflights are highly resistant to mechanical damage, sudden temperature changes, and harsh weather conditions. It is also important to note that polycarbonate infill reduces the risk of fire spread. Our products meet classifications such as NRO/BROOF(t1) for fire safety.
The bases of our rooflights are made as standard from galvanized steel sheet with a minimum zinc coating of Z275 (275 g/m²) and a thickness ranging from 1.25 to 1.5 mm, depending on the height.
The covers are made using aluminum profiles filled with UV-filtered multi-wall polycarbonate panels. A PVC clip mounted in the frame offers excellent thermal performance, effectively preventing thermal bridging and minimizing heat loss.
Additionally, our rooflights can be powder-coated to match the color of the roof covering—any shade from the standard RAL color palette.
STORLUM rooflights can also be corrosion-protected up to corrosion class C1 to C5-I, significantly enhancing resistance to harsh environmental conditions.
